SAN REMO, Italy (AP) — Dutch cyclist Mathieu van der Poel matched his grandfather by winning the Milan-San Remo “monument race” Saturday.Van der Poel attacked near the summit of the Poggio, the race’s final climb, extended his advantage on the twisty and technical descent and crossed the line alone with plenty of time to celebrate.Van der Poel, who rides for the Alpecin-Deceuninck team, finished 15 seconds ahead of Filippo Ganna, Wout van Aert and Tadej Pogacar — the two-time Tour de France champion — after nearly 6 ½ hours of racing.French cyclist Raymond Poulidor, Van der Poel’s maternal grandfather, won the Milan-San Remo in 1961. He died in 2019.Van der Poel said the win was special not only because his grandfather won it, “but also because it’s a monument.“It’s one that I think every rider wants to have one day,” he added. “A special win in a special race. Q: Now that our shooting has come around, why not another shot for Duncan Robinson? When our shooters are at their best, Robinson is our best shooter. That has been shown over the test of time. – Delroy.A: Because the shooting has come around without Duncan Robinson? Not to be unfair to Duncan, but it has taken this long into the season to finally establish productivity with the 3-point game, so why change what’s working? That said, with Kyle Lowry back, the Heat again have a nine deep that not only does not include Duncan, but also did not include Victor Oladipo in Wednesday night’s victory over Memphis or include Max Strus in Monday’s second half against Utah. So, for now, with the starting lineup of Bam Adebayo, Kevin Love, Jimmy Butler, Tyler Herro and Gabe Vincent, and with Lowry, Caleb Martin and a backup center off the bench, there is just one spot left in a nine-man rotation. Oladipo? Strus? Or Robinson? And the rotation only gets tighter in the playo...Division 3 state girls basketball championship history

Edwards and guard Nate Davis to more modest additions such as tight end Robert Tonyan, nose tackle Andrew Billings and running back D’Onta Foreman, all of whom signed contracts Friday. All figure to be in position to play meaningful roles. Tonyan offers a lot more as a receiver than last year’s No. 2 tight end Ryan Griffin did.
