Investment banks to put $10 billion into projects aimed at interconnecting South America SAO PAULO (AP) — Four investment banks announced Thursday during a meeting of leaders of the Mercosur trade bloc that they will put $10 billion up for infrastructure works aimed at better connecting South America, including funds for port, airport, road, rail and power transmission projects. Man killed in shooting outside liquor store in Arapahoe County A 29-year-old man was killed in a shooting outside a liquor store in unincorporated Arapahoe County on Sunday evening, and the suspect remains at large.According to an email from Arapahoe County public information officer Ginger Delgado, two men were shot outside the store in the 2200 block of Quebec Street.The two men were taken to a hospital, where the 29-year-old was pronounced deceased, Delgado said. He was identified Monday by the coroner’s office as Diego Jesus Lopez Manrrique, according to a statement.The second man, who is not the suspect, survived the shooting, Delgado confirmed Thursday.The coroner’s office determined Manrrique’s death was a homicide.The suspect fled the scene and remains at large, Delgado said. Defendant guilty in 2022 killing of Arvada police Officer Dillon Vakoff By Stephanie Butzer, Denver7A man accused of killing an Arvada police officer in 2022 amid a violent family disturbance has been found guilty on all counts by a jury in Jefferson County.Sonny Thomas Almanza III was standing trial in connection with the deadly shooting of Officer Dillon Vakoff, 27, and nonfatal shooting of a woman early Sept. 11, 2022.The jury reached a verdict Thursday, one day after prosecutors and the defense presented their closing arguments. Southern California home targeted by armed burglars twice in one week A Granada Hills family who was previously targeted in a “dinnertime burglary” was victimized again Tuesday night, marking the second time burglars have ransacked the home in less than a week.Located in the Greyhawk Ranch community, the victim’s home was burglarized on Nov. 29 when thieves escaped with around $150,000 worth of valuables.The victim, only identified as David, was returning home from Christmas shopping with his wife and their newborn baby when he spotted the thieves leaving his home with a stockpile of stolen items.He chased them down in his car and rammed their vehicle to prevent them from fleeing the neighborhood. The burglars eventually escaped in their damaged vehicle.However, just days later, a group of intruders, possibly the same ones who previously ransacked his home, broke into his residence once again.The home, currently undergoing renovation and upgrading, sits along Wood Ranch Road.
