Several overnight shootings in St. Louis City

ST. LOUIS - One person is dead, and two juveniles are hurt after a series of shootings overnight in the city of St. Louis. Two others were also shot in the violence.At this point, police have told FOX 2 that nobody is in custody in connection with any of the shootings. The police also shared that they don't believe any of the shootings are connected, even though three of them happened within about a half hour of each other and two of the scenes were only a block apart.Police got the first call just after 9:45 p.m. They rushed to a scene on Minerva in north St. Louis which turned out to be a homicide.We're told when officers arrived, they found one male shot outside. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police explained that the victim in the case was in his late teens to early 20s. HHomicide detectives have been called in to take over this investigation. ST. LOUIS - Major backups are taking place on Interstate 70 Thursday morning. Our Bommarito Automotive Group SkyFOX helicopter is flying over the area, located on I-70 westbound on the Blanchette Bridge, where an overturned trash truck can be seen blocking the far left lanes and dangling over the bridge. ST. LOUIS - A St. Louis man agrees to a plea deal in the carjacking death of a Desmet High School football coach in 2017.30-year-old Kurt Wallace pleaded guilty in federal court to several charges linked to the shooting death of coach Jaz Granderson. Wallace admits to four carjackings, including the one where he shot Granderson. He's the seventh person convicted of the crimes. Cardinals announce Wainwright farewell plans, including concert and ceremony As part of the plea deal, both sides agree to recommend a sentence of 60 years in federal prison. MONTEREY – Paul’s Slide, the area on Highway 1 closed to through traffic, continues to live up to its name as movement of the hillside is ongoing but repair work continues.Highway 1 remains closed to vehicle, bicycle and pedestrian traffic for two miles, between the town of Lucia to the north and Limekiln State Park to the south.In early August, repair efforts were suspended at the site on Highway 1, postmile marker 21.7, to give Geotech crews time to study measurements of recent slide activity and in coordination with Caltrans engineering teams, design repairs based on the assessment of the slide conditions.After a brief pause in repair work for the assessment and design, crews continue to work seven days a week during all daylight hours, but there have been two overriding safety priorities while working to fully reopen the highway, according to Caltrans.The first has been the safety of the crews who make these repairs while working at a site that is steep and where slide activity ...Latest news
